Crystal Palace have vowed to take the strongest possible action after forward Wilfried Zaha was subjected to racist abuse online.
The 26-year-old was the target of a series of tweets allegedly containing racial abuse on social media.
After being notified about the posts, Crystal Palace promised to pursue those responsible with the "full force of whatever the law allows".
A statement read: "Crystal Palace Football Club has taken action after one of our players, Wilfried Zaha, has again been subjected to racist abuse on social media.
"We will not tolerate this behaviour being directed at any of our players and will fully support them in dealing with such incidents.
"Any action we can take unilaterally as a Club will be taken immediately and we will also seek cooperation from other clubs where relevant, following that we will pursue the matter criminally with the full force of whatever the law allows."
Zaha opened up earlier this year about how he receives racist abuse "nearly every game" and revealed he gets a "million" abusive social media messages each week, including death threats.
