Crystal Palace star Luka Milivojevic set to end international exile after talks with Serbia coach

Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic is set to end his Serbia exile after talks with new manager Ljubisa Tumbakovic.

Milivojevic has not played for his national team since he fell out with former coach Mladen Krstajic during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

But Krstajic was sacked in June and Milivojevic is set to be recalled by new Serbia boss Tumbakovic.

Milivojevic has held talks with Tumbakovic in London and is set to be named in the Serbia squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Portugal and Luxembourg next month.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson said last season Milivojevic was “absolutely distraught” at being overlooked by his national team and the midfielder, who last week signed a new four-year contract at Selhurst Park, has admitted the situation has been difficult for him.
