Crystal Palace star Andros Townsend has delighted the Eagles fans with a brutal put-down to arch-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Eagles ace has responded to a post on Twitter from the south coast club, with the Seagulls suggesting a virtual match on FIFA 20 between Townsend and Brighton striker Neal Maupay, amid the lack of professional football due to the coronavirus outbreak.
All Premier League football is suspended until April 30 at least, with the number of cases of coronavirus in the UK increasing daily.
The post, which featured a video of Maupay's goal against Palace earlier this season, was published on Brighton's official Twitter account earlier today and posed the question to the Eagles about a game, suggesting that it was "time to give the fans what they want."
But Townsend has delivered a brutal response to Brighton's tweet.
In response, Townsend said: "Thanks but our fans were already given exactly what they wanted #87daysandcountin'.
Townsend's tweet, which has been liked by more than 1,300 people within the first couple of hours of being posted, was accompanied with a video of Jordan Ayew's winning goal in the recent clash between the two arch-rivals at the Amex Stadium.
Ayew netted the only goal of the game when the two sides met last month on the south coast, with Palace taking another step towards Premier League safety.
Meanwhile, Brighton are currently just two points above the Premier League relegation zone, with nine games to play.
