Crystal Palace 'slap fresh eye-watering price tag' on Wilfried Zaha amid Arsenal transfer interest

Crystal Palace will demand an eye-watering £100million from Arsenal for Wilfried Zaha, according to reports.

Palace are desperate not to lose the former Manchester United winger having already allowed Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave the club for the Red Devils in a £50million deal.

The Eagles are worried about a backlash from supporters if they allow fan-favourite Zaha to leave and have subsequently placed the enormous price tag on the player, report the Daily Mail.

Arsenal only have around £40million to spend this summer unless they can offload some of their bigger earners.

It is understood Palace value Zaha at around £80million - but have now seemingly taken extra steps to ensure he remains at Selhurst Park.

The Gunners' chances lie with the player forcing his way out of the club, and Zaha is desperate to make the switch to Arsenal.

He is not expected to hand in a transfer request in his bid to seal the move, but his camp have made the north Londoners aware he wants to make the transfer.

Zaha initially told Palace he wanted to leave to join a club that could offer Champions League football, but has been undeterred by the Gunners' failure to finish in the top four and defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Arsenal have so far found it difficult to move on big-earners such as Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Calum Chambers are among those likely to leave the Emirates over the off-season.

Shkodran Mustafi could also be on the move amid interest from Fenerbahce, while Lucas Torreira is being courted by AC Milan.

Arsenal do not want to lose Torreira or golden boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is attracting interest from China and has also been fancifully linked with an unlikely switch to Manchester United.

Other players on the Gunners' shopping list include Kieran Tierney and William Saliba.
