Crystal Palace have signed Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa on a season-long loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

The 25-year-old also spent last season on loan in the Premier League with Cardiff City, scoring five times and winning the club Players’ Player of the Year award as Neil Warnock’s side were relegated.

"I am very happy to be here, and I’m so excited to start with the group,” Camarasa told the Palace club website.

“I think Palace has great players and it is a great club. I’m going to work hard to play football, and I hope that the fans are excited with my football.”

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is looking to add midfield reinforcements as the transfer deadline approaches, with Everton’s James McCarthy also expected to arrive before 5pm on Thursday.

However, the future of Wilfried Zaha remains up in the air, with reports suggesting the forward has handed in a transfer request in order to force through a last minute move to Everton.
