Crystal Palace reportedly keen on securing permanent move for Swansea City forward Jordan Ayew

Crystal Palace are keen on making Swansea City loanee Jordan Ayew their first signing of the summer, according to reports.

The Sun claims Roy Hodgson believes the Ghanaian could prove a useful squad player for the Eagles next season, and is subsequently preparing a £4 million bid.

The 27-year-old has spent the entire season on loan at Selhurst Park following Swansea's relegation from the Premier League last term, but has struggled to make a big impact in South London, scoring just once in 18 appearances, most which have come from the bench.

Nevertheless, reports suggest Hodgson still sees a future for Ayew at the club, and its understood Palace are unlikely to meet much resistance from Swansea should they choose to make a bid.

The reported potential bid is just shy of the £5 million paid to bring him in from Aston Villa back in 2017, and could well viewed as a decent proposition as new chairman Trevor Birch looks at balancing the books.

Ayew currently has one more year to run on his current contract at the Liberty Stadium and securing a permanent move away this summer is likely to be an attractive option.

Swansea are also believed to be willing to listen to offers for Ayew's brother, Andre, currently on loan at Turkish giants Fenerbahce, while the likes of Wilfried Bony and Borja Baston also look to have played their last games for the Swans.
