Crystal Palace reject Wilfried Zaha offer and stand firm over £80m transfer price

Crystal Palace have knocked back a loan offer from Bayern Munich for star man Wilfried Zaha, standing firm over their £80million valuation of the winger.

Zaha has signed with super-agent Pini Zahavi in order to boost his chances of finding a move to a Champions League club this month, and quickly began to conduct talks with Bayern over a loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. However, Palace have no need to sell for anything less than their current valuation, paid up front. They certainly won't consider a loan move to any suitor.

The winger admitted his head was "all over the place" earlier this season following a failed move away from the club over the summer, which resulted in a transfer request being handed in on the penultimate day of the window and manager Roy Hodgson sending him home from training for a couple of days.

Chelsea are interested in a deal for the former Manchester United winger, who is contracted to Palace until 2023, as the Blues look to find long-term replacements for both Pedro and Willian now they are once more free to spend. Zahavi is a close friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Palace are also reluctant to let any player go before they have significantly reinforced their own injury-ravaged squad. Hodgson is keen to add four or five new faces this month and could be without up to 11 players through injury or suspension when they face Arsenal this weekend.

Their targets have not changed since the summer, with a striker and full-backs the priority. With that in mind Palace are weighing up a move for Genk striker Mbwana Samatta this month. They face competition from a number of Premier League rivals for the Tanzanian but could snap up the 27-year-old for around £7.5million.
