Crystal Palace receive key injury blow ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Crystal Palace will reportedly be without star forward Wilfred Zaha for their match against Nottingham Forest on the final day of the season.

Steve Cooper's side travel to Selhurst Park knowing that they may need a result to secure their Premier League status for another campaign.

But the Reds could be safe by the time they travel to South London depending on how their relegation rivals get on in their next fixture and if Forest get a result on Saturday against Arsenal.

However, if Forest do need to get something from the match against Palace, they will have received some welcome news. Mail Online report that Zaha is out for the rest of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury against Bournemouth last weekend.

"Zaha felt his hamstring which is worrying, but we won't know how serious until he has the scan. Hopefully, it will only take a few days rather than a couple of weeks", Palace boss Roy Hodgson said after the match.

The Mail report that Zaha had a scan on Monday which resulted in him discovering that he will not be able to play again during the current campaign. He may have also played his last game for the club with his contract expiring this summer.

The 30-year-old has been a talisman for the club over the years. He has made over 450 appearances, and scored 90 goals, over two spells at Palace with seven league goals to his name in 27 appearances this season.
