Crystal Palace react to idea of Aaron Wan-Bissaka winning Champions League at Man Utd

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still widely expected to be the next one in through the door at Manchester United this summer.

The right-back is said to be on the cusp of completing a deal that could be worth around £50million as he makes the switch from Selhurst Park to Old Trafford, with United bringing in a player who frequently impressed for the Eagles last season.

Wan-Bissaka has played 46 times for the South Londoners across his two campaigns in the first-team, but he's now almost certain to bolster the right hand side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United defence for the upcoming campaign.

The likes of Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot have all been seen there for United in recent months, but it quickly became apparent this summer than Wan-Bissaka was the Norwegian's first-choice new addition for the position.

The Guardian have reported that the two clubs will meet to discuss the finer details of the deal on Monday, after United put in an improved offer over the weekend.

That was their third attempt at convincing Palace to sell the 21-year-old, and the previous two didn't quite go to plan.

Indeed, that Guardian report states that United sought to put performance-related clauses in the second of the two bids which were rejected, which included both personal and team-based objectives.

Some, it is claimed, were related to United winning the Champions League in the near future, but with Solskjaer's side having finished sixth last term and not taking their place in European football's elite club competition for 2019/20, Palace are said to have considered that "wildly unrealistic" as they stayed around the negotiating table.

A deal is expected to be agreed soon, but Palace are determined for it to be on their terms.
