Crystal Palace player ratings vs Everton: Mateta's best game, Guehi dominant, Olise excellent

Jack Butland - 7

Didn't have much to deal with in the first 45 minutes despite Everton dominating the first ten minutes of the game and having plenty of chances. Made some important stops in the second half, especially when getting low to smother a dangerous

Tyrick Mitchell - 7

Made a brilliant tackle to stop an Everton attack in the first half that then saw Andros Townsend go down off the ball and give Palace a chance to regroup.

Marc Guehi - 8

A ropey start but the skipper soon made amends for any early nerves when he planted a header past Jordan Pickford in front of the Holmesdale End to set Palace on their way.

Joachim Andersen - 7

Imposing and as fearless as ever, it was another strong showing for the Dane who has now strung together several consecutive classy performances.

Nathaniel Clyne - 7

A comfortable afternoon in the end for Clyne who is giving himself every chance of taking Joel Ward's shirt off him in the next few matches.

Cheikhou Kouyate - 7

His physicality was needed at times in midfield and he still shone despite not having another defensive-minded midfielder alongside him.

Eberechi Eze - 7

Instrumental in the build-up to the second Palace goal after he took on his man on the wing before drawing defenders to him and playing in Zaha who then found Mateta.

Conor Gallagher - 8

Kicked in the face by Andre Gomes in the first half but despite the challenge looking a painful one he got up and looked fired up.

Wilfried Zaha - 8

Had a wonderful moment to double Palace's lead following Mateta's drilled cross but fired the ball narrowly wide of the post. But in another good pass for the Frenchman from the opposite flank not long after that the striker buried past Pickford.

Got fortunate that the ball landed at his feet for the third goal but he won't complain and it settled the game for Palace.

Jean-Philippe Mateta - 9

Held the ball up well as Palace grew into the game following a slow start. Was an important part to the Eagles' play in both boxes. He took his goal incredibly well and was easily the best player on the pitch in the opening 45 minutes.

Michael Olise - 7

He did brilliantly to keep Conor Gallagher's slightly overhit pass down the line alive and then win a corner. He first forced Pickford into a save before landing the second corner onto Guehi's head who opened the scoring.

Substitutes

Odsonne Edouard (for Jean-Philippe Mateta 70') - 7

Luka Milivojevic (for Ebere Eze 70') - 7

Christian Benteke (for Michael Olise 83') - 7

Will Hughes (for Cheikhou Kouyate 83') - 7

Right place, right time for this goal as he converted from close range following Conor Gallagher's shot inside the box.
