Crystal Palace player ratings vs Brighton: Wilfried Zaha saves Eagles as Jairo Riedewald exposed

Vicente Guaita

An impressive display from the glovesman, who was commanding to claim some awry balls in the first half. One second half fumble shouldn't mar what was a pretty good performance. 7.

Martin Kelly

When Palace finally found their foot in the latter stages of the game he moved forwards well with Jordan Ayew. 6.

James Tomkins

Put in some well timed tackles at the last and even supplied the flick on to Wilfried Zaha before the Ivory Coast international levelled things up. 6.

Scott Dann

Was pretty solid other than a poor pass back to Guaita. 6.

Jairo Riedewald

Wanted the ball though sometimes meant he strayed towards the centre of the pitch. Had his work cut out as Brighton targeted his flank again and again through Martin Montoya and Aaron Mooy, though didn't always have support. Perhaps fortunate not to give away a penalty. Subbed at half time. 4.

James McArthur

Like most of Palace, had a quiet first half before being moved to left back for the second half. Brighton continued to look to exploit the same area and managed to net from one such opportunity. Showed some urgency to carry the ball and kick start a Palace attack that was often lacking. 5.

Luka Milivojevic

Put in some impressive firm challenges but never had much opportunity on the ball. 5.

Cheikhou Kouyate

Was involved in a few nice interchanges and battled well. Struggled to really impose himself on the game. 5.

Jordan Ayew

Worked hard as always but struggled to get involved with the game. Carried the ball well before handing Christian Benteke his best chance of the match and came alive in the last 20 minutes. 6.

Christian Benteke

Battled well but had few opportunities to make an impact in the first half. Made a nice break into the Brighton box early in the second half and hit the crossbar with a cross-come-shot. Had a good effort saved by Mat Ryan. 6.

Wilfried Zaha

Did not have many chances to exert his influence on proceedings but started to find some gaps as the match wore on. Cut and jinked and smashed the ball past Ryan for the equaliser. 7.

Substitutes

James McCarthy - Came on his place of Riedewald and perhaps to help Palace retain some possession.  6.

Max Meyer - Everything seemed to change when the German came on though he wasn't particularly prominent. 6.
