Vicente Guaita
Was fortunate Isaac Hayden slipped in the first half as the midfielder took the ball past him. Was more certain from that moment and had a pretty difficult task for Miguel Almiron's goal. 6.
Martin Kelly
Was fairly solid against pacey opposition and looked to get forward too. 6.
James Tomkins
Showed his trademark perfectly timed slide tackle against Joelinton and was solid alongside Cheikhou Kouyate. 6.
Cheikhou Kouyate
Certainly didn't look out of place and marshalled Newcastle's aerial threat very well to limit the presence of Joelinton and Andy Carroll. 7.
Patrick van Aanholt
Didn't look rusty coming back in the team and produced some good deliveries. Not outstanding but it was nice to see someone who looks natural in the position once again. 6.
James McCarthy
In flashes showed some of the things he has to offer with plenty of tenacity and some silky interchanges. 6.
Luka Milivojevic
A little wasteful in possession at times but offered his usual tireless effort. Came close with a free kick in the first half. 5.
James McArthur
Perhaps one of Palace's better players at breaking into the box but he struggled to muster a clear cut opportunity. 5.
Jordan Ayew
Played more centrally than you would expect and didn't challenge the Newcastle left back area. As always, looked good driving forward with some nice passing combinations. Played a lovely ball through to Christian Benteke in the latter stages but the Belgian couldn't finish. 6.
Wilfried Zaha
Got more joy down the left as the first half progressed and as usual was fouled a lot. Saw flashes of his partnership with van Aanholt too but just couldn't make the crucial impact he so often does. 6.
Christian Benteke
Won a number of headers in the first half but was unable to test Martin Dubravka with them during the first half. Some tireless and impressive hold up play but struggled in front of goal. 6.
