Crystal Palace player ratings as Wilfried Zaha goes from hero to zero with penalty miss

Vicente Guaita - 6

Couldn't do too much about the opener and wasn't called into action too many times after that.

Tyrick Mitchell - 7

Made a brilliant, last-ditch header to clear the ball and deny Teemu Pukki a certain goal at the back post before making a similar last-gasp challenge moments later with Pukki clear again.

Joachim Andersen - 7

Generally composed other than for one moment when he missed the ball charging out for it that led to a Pukki chance on goal.

Marc Guehi - 6

Stepped out of defence several times to carry the ball upfield and marshalled the backline well when Norwich countered en massed in the second half.

Joel Ward - 4

Couldn't have started much worse for Ward who was immediately taken for a run by Milot Rashica which led to the opener inside 40 seconds. Lost his man again on the 20-minute mark that almost led to a second goal.

Will Hughes - 6

Had a good game coming back into the team and showed a good passing range when needing to push the ball forwards.

Jeffrey Schlupp - 7

Improved as the first half wore on from midfield and was lively trying to link play as Palace improved. Made several late runs forward and was a willing receiver when a pass was needed.

Conor Gallagher - 6

Always looking to play on the turn but it didn't fall for him in the first 45 minutes. Had a free-kick in a dangerous area pushed clear by Angus Gunn in the second half.

Wilfried Zaha - 7

Involved in a lot of Palace's moves going forward during the first half but didn't quite have the killer touch to turn any of them into serious chances.

His second half started with a bang as he curled an absolute beauty into the top corner before then scuffing his penalty moments after.

Jean-Philippe Mateta - 6

Had the ball in the net towards the end of the first half but the flag went up for offside. Brilliant footwork in the build-up to the penalty being awarded.

Michael Olise - 6

Had some joy in the first half running at Norwich defenders but too often had a lack of options to provide a pass to. Started the move for Palace's goal with a terrific cross-field ball for Zaha.

Substitutes

Jordan Ayew (for Michael Olise 70') - N/A

Didn't get much of a chance to impress but put in a good ball for Edouard that was plucked out the air by Gunn.

Odsonne Edoaurd (for Jean-Philippe Mateta 80') - N/A

Eberechi Eze (for Jeffrey Schlupp 80') - N/A
