Oliver Glasner has said he hopes Yeremy Pino’s injury is “not too serious” after the winger was withdrawn at half-time during Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win over West Ham.
Glasner confirmed Pino couldn’t continue after complaining of pain in his knee at half-time and said the 22-year-old will be assessed tomorrow before likely having a scan.
“No, he had pain in his knee. We don't know exactly what it is, so we'll assess him tomorrow, and I think we'll have a scan,” Glasner said.
“Hopefully it's not too serious, but he couldn't continue playing.”
Pino, who was treated in the West Ham penalty area as soon as the half-time whistle blew, has played 219 minutes for Palace in all competitions since his £26million move from Villarreal.
The Spain international has looked lively without finding the back of the net for his new club, and Glasner will hope he is not set for a long spell on the sidelines.
Palace have struggled with injuries this season and welcomed back Adam Wharton to the starting lineup following a groin issue.
The Eagles remain without Ismaila Sarr, who is expected to return to training tomorrow following a hamstring injury, and Walter Benitez, as well as long-term absentees Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad.
Sarr is in contention for next weekend’s game at home to Liverpool, which will come as a boost to Glasner following Pino’s withdrawal.
Palace made it 17 games unbeaten with a 2-1 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium, but Glasner admitted his side still needed to improve in the final third despite climbing to fourth in the Premier League table.
