Crystal Palace news: Zaha sends message to Brighton fans, Eagles flop shines again

Everything looks rosy for Crystal Palace right now.

And the Eagles supporters have the bragging rights when it comes to the rivalry with Brighton & Hove Albion.

A solitary Jordan Ayew strike was enough to secure all three points at the Amex on Saturday lunchtime.

That made it back-to-back wins for Roy Hodgson's side.

All the fallout from that victory on the south coast, plus the biggest stories from around the Selhurst Park outfit in the last 24 hours are below in our round-up of the top news.

Premier League top scorer: Who leads the race for the golden boot?

Player ratings

It was hardly a vintage display, but Palace got the job done against their fierce rivals Brighton on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew bagged the only goal of the game at the Amex to send the Eagles fans home happy, giving them bragging rights over the Seagulls.

There were a number of good performances, particularly in defence for Roy Hodgson's men.

Here's how we rated the players.

Hodgson delighted

The Eagles manager was a happy man after the final whistle.

And why wouldn't he be? Three points and back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

It was a derby game played in good spirits and Hodgson pointed to that among other things during his post-match press conference.

Everything he had to say is here.

Zaha sends message

Wilfried Zaha was not at his flying best against Brighton.

But he will not be bothered about that.

He was involved in an altercation with Seagulls substitute Ezequiel Schelotto during the first half and as is always the case was constantly booed by the home fans at the Amex.

He had a message for them after the game though, posting on his Instagram account.

Flop's fine form

Alexander Sorloth did not have a good time of it with Crystal Palace.

He was sent out on loan to Genk and is now with Turkish side Trabzonspor.

The striker can make that loan move permanent at any point in the next 18 months.

And given his form, the Turkish side are highly likely to do just that.

He is the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig and while he did not find the back of the net against Rizespor in a 5-2 win, he did provide an assist, meaning he has now been involved in 31 goals this season.

Not bad for someone who scored one League Cup goal for Palace.
