Crystal Palace news: Roy Hodgson's Wilfried Zaha transfer admission, Scott Dann injury latest

Crystal Palace are up to 11th in the Premier League after their 2-0 victory against Burnley on Saturday.

The Eagles claimed all three points at Turf Moor, with Wilfried Zaha and Jeffrey Schlupp on target for Roy Hodgson's men in Lancashire.

The win moved Palace level on points with their hosts and into the top half of the table, temporarily, but they dropped one place yesterday to 11th as a result of Manchester United's draw with Aston Villa.

Palace are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) though, with Bournemouth the visitors to Selhurst Park.

And ahead of that game, we take a look at the latest Palace news.

Roy Hodgson's Wilfried Zaha transfer comments

It was another good day for Wilfried Zaha as he netted for the second week running in the Premier League on Saturday.

Zaha scored the opening goal at Turf Moor as Palace claimed the victory, making it goals in back-to-back games for the Eagles after his strike against Liverpool the week before.

That followed a goal drought for Palace that stretched back to May, although he had scored for Ivory Coast over the summer at the African Nations Cup.

But Hodgson said after the game that performances like that from Zaha could lead to renewed interest from other clubs, after a summer transfer saga that ended in him staying at the club, despite bids from Arsenal and Everton.

"He's a good player, isn't he? He's capable of causing problems to any defence anywhere in the world," Hodgson told reporters at Turf Moor.

"Good for Wilf, that's two goals in two games and, if he can keep that up, it will help us enormously to climb the table.

"We've never wanted to lose him. But, when you're Crystal Palace - and I think Burnley would regard themselves in the same situation - when a player does exceptionally well and there's lots of clubs after them and prepared to pay big money, it's not always that easy to keep hold of them.

"We can't say to Wilf, 'You've got to stay with us because we'll be Champions League next year'.

"I'm happy that [a summer transfer] didn't materialise, I think he's done exceptionally well to get over that and accept it and make certain he's once again doing his level best for this club.

"Who knows, there might come a time in the future where we're confronted with that situation agian. But, until that day arrives, I'll carry on working with him, being happy to be working with him and happy that we've got a player of his ability to help us win football matches."

Scott Dann injury latest

Crystal Palace have been unfortunate with injuries when it comes to defenders in recent weeks.

Joel Ward is set to miss several weeks with a knee injury, while Gary Cahill missed the win at Burnley also with a knee injury and Mamadou Sakho is lacking match fitness after recently returning from a muscle strain.

As such, they could ill-afford another injury in defence, with concern over Scott Dann after he went off after an hour at Turf Moor.

But the central defender is hopeful that his injury is not too serious, ahead of the game against Bournemouth tomorrow (Tuesday).

"I haven’t played much football of late, obviously I’ve been fit but the lads have been doing a good job and I’ve had to wait for my chance. It was nice to come back and contribute [against Burnley], he said, speaking to Palace's website .

"I’m hoping it's not [anything serious]. I got a whack early on from a tackle and it seemed to be getting better until half-time but it stiffened up and I couldn’t really move as I needed to. I got as much as I could have out of the game."
