Crystal Palace news: Patrick van Aanholt update, £12m permanent deal, transfer deadline day

FA Cup fourth action has dominated our screens over the past few days.

Crystal Palace's defeat in round three at home to Derby County means they've had a rare weekend off during the season which could prove vital between now and May.

The Eagles were last in action a week ago when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Southampton - a result which saw the Saints move above them in the Premier League table.

January transfer window: everything you need to know

Furthermore, the south London outfit remain without a win in 2020 and manager Roy Hodgson will look to address this record when his side host Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

It finished 1-0 to the Blades in the reverse meeting back in August and Chris Wilder's side have gone from strength to strength ever since that game at Bramall Lane, so Palace are in for a tough game.

With that said, here's all the news from around Selhurst Park over the past 24 hours.

Van Aanholt update

Patrick van Aanholt is being linked with an exit this month.

Sky Sports reported over the weekend that PSV Eindhoven had made a bid for the Palace full-back, who has 18 months left on his current contract with the Eagles.

The report claimed that the bid was around €5million (£4.2million), which Palace were set to reject, with Dutch publication Voetbal International claiming that Palace would not consider selling for less than €10million.

However, the Evening Standard are reporting that the club won't entertain any offers for van Aanholt at all.

Walker-Peters to Crystal Palace

Speaking of full-backs, one could be arriving at Selhurst Park in the coming days.

Tottenham's Kyle Walker-Peters is free to leave before the transfer window closes and has been linked with a move to both Palace and Southampton.

It's been mooted that the 22-year-old is available on loan.

However, football.london understand that Spurs have not ruled out a permanent move to bolster their transfer fund and Walker-Peters' valuation is expected to be around £12m mark with future add-ons if he were to be sold.

Transfer deadline day

The January transfer window is into its final few days, as teams look to bolster their respective squads for the second half of the season.

Palace have already signed Cenk Tosun on loan from Everton as well as Scott Banks from Dundee United, but there's time to get one or two more through the door.

But when does the January window close? Here is the information you need to know as confirmed by the Premier League.
