Crystal Palace news: Cenk Tosun injury blow, links to Premier League star in summer transfer

Crystal Palace fans are still likely to be enjoying themselves after a victory against arch-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew's goal proved to be the difference between the two sides as Palace claimed a fourth away win of the season in the Premier League to move above Southampton and into 12th place in the table.

Palace also moved eight points clear of Brighton with the victory, with the Eagles now nine points ahead of the relegation zone with ten games to play.

The Eagles are now preparing to face Watford this weekend at Selhurst Park, before a trip to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium a week later.

Below, we take a look at the latest Crystal Palace news.

Cenk Tosun injury

The Athletic state that Palace are waiting on the results of a scan, but are fearing the worst.

Tosun made the move to Selhurst Park in order to get more regular first team football ahead of Turkey's Euro 2020 campaign, but his participation in the summer tournament is now in doubt.

The Eagles have an option to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season for £20million should they avoid relegation, which is now looking likely.

But apparently Palace will not have to foot the bill for his wages in the event of a lengthy injury rehabilitation, and the loan could be cancelled if the severity of the injury is confirmed.

Allan Saint-Maximin rumours

The Mail claim that Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin's future at St. James' Park is in doubt.

The French star was dropped from the starting line up for the draw against Burnley at the weekend, with Steve Bruce stating he was struggling with a hamstring injury.

However, the winger came off the bench in that fixture, and was available for the FA Cup tie against West Brom on Tuesday evening.

A number of players are said to have become frustrated with Bruce's tactics in Newcastle, and Bruce has had concerns about Saint-Maximin's performances in training.

Crystal Palace have been linked with the 22-year-old, along with Wolves, with both clubs said to be keeping an eye on the situation.
