Crystal Palace hopeful Luka Milivojevic will sign new deal amid transfer interest

Crystal Palace are in talks with Luka Milivojevic over a new contract and are hopeful of reaching an agreement with the midfielder.

The Serbian is currently in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and he is still yet to pen an extension.

It has led to speculation Milivojevic could leave Crystal Palace this summer with clubs in Italy, in particular AC Milan and Lazio, monitoring his situation.

However, Standard Sport understands the Eagles are in talks with their club captain and are hopeful of penning him down to fresh terms.

The 28-year-old moved to Selhurst Park back in January 2017 after Palace paid a fee of around £11million to sign him from Olympiakos.

Since then, the Serbian has become a first-team regular and the club are eager to tie him down to fresh terms.

As well as agreeing a new contract with Milivojevic, Crystal Palace are expected to be active in the transfer window during its final week.

The club are looking to add to their squad and they have money to reinvest following the £50m sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United.

Palace are looking to bolster their defence, while they also want to bring in a forward.
