Crystal Palace hero makes Wilfried Zaha transfer prediction amid Chelsea and Tottenham links

Wilfried Zaha will not be going anywhere in January, despite being linked with a move to either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur.

That's the view of former Crystal Palace star John Salako, who worked with Zaha during his time as first team coach when Alan Pardew was in charge of the Eagles.

Zaha's future has once again been the subject of much speculation in the January transfer window, after he was strongly linked with a move away in the summer, amid interest from Arsenal and Everton.

He stayed put then, despite submitting a transfer request, but rumours have been circulating that Chelsea and Tottenham are both interested in the Palace star, while German giants Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Everything you need to know about the January transfer window

But Salako believes that Zaha will once again stay put at Palace beyond the end of the transfer window, with just 11 days remaining before the deadline.

“I can’t see it happening," he said, speaking to Love Sport Radio.

"I went into this transfer window thinking he wants to go, he would like to go and maybe play Champions League football, he deserves that, he has earned the right. And I think Palace fans would wish him well if he wanted to do that.

“But I would love him to stay. He is just so important, especially when you see the injuries now, with [Andros] Townsend and [Jeffrey] Schlupp.

“He is so vital to the side, and I would love him to stay, at least until the summer, and it looks like to me he is going to stay until the end of the season.”
