Crystal Palace handed tricky Championship tie as FA Cup fifth round draw confirmed

Crystal Palace will face Championship side Stoke City at Selhurst Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Eagles are set to welcome Michael O'Neil's side to south London on Wednesday, March 2 as they bid to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals for the second time in four years.

The Potters are currently 14th in the second tier and have won both of their FA Cup games by a 2-0 scoreline so far, beating League Two side Leyton Orient and League One outfit Wigan Athletic at the bet365 Stadium.

The last time the two sides faced each other was in the 2017/18 Premier League season, with Palace coming out 2-1 winners in both home and away fixtures.

Patrick Vieira's side booked their place in the fifth round by overcoming League Two's Hartlepool United 2-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

First-half goals from Marc Guehi and Michael Olise were enough to see the Eagles through comfortably in front of a sold-out crowd in south London.

Palace beat Championship outfit Millwall in the third round, with Olise once again starring with a goal and an assist.

The FA Cup fifth round fixtures are set to be played during the week commencing Monday, February 28.
