Oliver Glasner has been handed a welcome injury boost ahead of Crystal Palace’s Conference League clash with AZ Alkmaar.
Adam Wharton trained with the Palace squad on Wednesday morning ahead of their third league phase game after overcoming a bout of illness.
Wharton missed Palace’s 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday, but now looks set to return as Palace host AZ at Selhurst Park on Thursday.
Chadi Riad also trained, with the defender on the comeback trail after suffering a serious knee injury in January.
Eddie Nketiah did not train, having suffered a hamstring injury during Palace’s Carabao Cup win over Liverpool. He is not expected back until after the international break.
Long-term absentees Cheick Doucoure and Caleb Kporha were also not present at training.
Palace are looking to get back to winning ways in the Conference League after their shock home defeat by Cypriot side AEK Larnaca.
Their Larnaca loss was followed up by a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, making it four games without a win in all competitions.
However, the Eagles have responded well with successive victories over Liverpool and Brentford.
Glasner praised an “important” win for Palace against the Bees, which saw them extend their unbeaten run at home in the league to 11 games, but raised the issue of a hectic fixture schedule after the international break.
“It was a great win and a very important win,” the Austrian said.
“We are really pleased that we could win the set-play battle.
"Huge credit to the players. You could see in the last 20 minutes that their legs got fatigued, which is normal when you have such a tight schedule, but we defended very well.”
Palace sit 16th in the Conference League after one win and one loss from their opening two matches.
