Crystal Palace handed huge boost as Everton suffer Andre Gomes setback

Crystal Palace have been handed an early boost ahead of the visit of Everton at the end of the month.

The Eagles welcome the Toffees to Selhurst Park on Saturday, April 27, but when they arrive in SE25 they will be without one of their key men.

That is because Portuguese international Andre Gomes has been banned for three games following an incident with Aleksandar Mitrovic duiring Everton's 2-0 defeat to Fulham at the weekend.

Gomes has been one of Everton's stars this season during a season-long loan from Barcelona with a number of other clubs keeping an eye on his performances.

The reason why Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey escaped punishment from the FA

He has made 26 Premier League appearances this season, missing just eight matches, but he will miss another three more after picking up a suspension form the Football Association.

Gomes was caught on camera, appearing to stamp on the Serbian forward right at the end of the game at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The incident was missed by the match officials, meaning the FA could take a look at the footage and take retrospective action.

The 25-year-old accepted the charge and will miss the Toffees' games with Manchester United, Palace and Burnley.

He will, however, return to action in time for the final game of the season away at Tottenham - one of the teams rumoured to be keeping tabs on him.
