Crystal Palace fans will love what young winger has said after signing contract with the Eagles

Crystal Palace winger Sean Robertson is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Wilfried Zaha and Victor Moses after signing his first professional contract with the Eagles.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on his first professional deal, having been at the club since 2011 when he joined the Eagles at U11 level.

Since then, he has played for Palace at various age groups, before breaking into the academy side at the end of the 2016/17 season, when he burst onto the scene with a couple of standout performances, and a couple of goals.

He has been a regular at U18 level since then, and has also featured at U23 level, and he says is now hoping to emulate some of Palace's famous academy graduates from recent times.

“I am delighted and can’t wait to get back and started for the season," Robertson told the club website, after penning his contract.

“Crystal Palace are very much the team of south London at the moment.

“I have worked with Richard Shaw, Dave Reddington, Paddy McCarthy and Jack Mesure; they’ve all been good coaches. It’s great for me that Dave is now a first team coach, so if I get the chance to go over there with the seniors, he will help with my transition.

"The talent the club have brought through – [Wilfried] Zaha, [Sean] Scannell, [Victor] Moses and [Nathaniel] Clyne – they are all players that I can relate to with their attributes.”

Robertson is the second player to have signed a new deal with Palace this week, following on from teenage striker James Daly, who sent a message to the Eagles fans after putting pen to paper on a contract extension.

Meanwhile, another player who has come through the ranks at Palace, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, is expected to complete his £50million move to Manchester United soon, after travelling to Manchester for a medical last night (Wednesday).
