Crystal Palace fans will love former striker's verdict on Arsenal's pursuit of Wilfried Zaha

Arsenal have "no chance" of signing Wilfried Zaha this summer, according to former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison.

The Palace ace has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this summer, after stating his desire to play European football towards the end of last season.

He has since been linked with Arsenal, with Zaha's brother describing a move to the Emirates Stadium as a "dream" switch for the Ivory Coast international, adding that he supported the Gunners as a boy.

However, Morrison says that with Arsenal having a limited budget after missing out on Champions League football next season, he cannot see Zaha joining the Gunners this summer.

Speaking on Talksport, Morrison said: “What football club comes out and says they only have £45m to spend?

“In this day and age, £45m is not going to get you much. If they sign [Kieran] Tierney, the left-back from Celtic, but that deal should have been completed a long time ago, I don’t know why it is taking so long, maybe they are trying to haggle.

“And then you have got Wilfried Zaha, well I can guarantee you now, knowing the chairman Steve Parish, Wilfried Zaha will not be going to Arsenal for that. That wouldn’t even buy his left foot!

“There is no chance, and I can’t see Arsenal bringing in a load of players this year. I think it will be a struggle, I think they will struggle."

Arsenal had a £40million bid for Zaha rejected out of hand by Palace earlier this summer, although it has been suggested that the Gunners could offer a number of fringe players to the Eagles as part of any deal.

However, with Palace under no pressure to sell, and having already sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United during the summer transfer window, the Eagles are reluctant to part ways with their star man.
