Crystal Palace fans are loving Victor Camarasa's 'classy' message after disappointing loan spell

It has not been a particularly good spell in the Premier League for Victor Camarasa at Crystal Palace.

The Spaniard's loan deal at Crystal Palace was terminated by parent club Real Betis earlier this week, with the midfielder joining Deportivo Alaves until the end of the season.

Camarasa, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Cardiff last year, moved to Palace from Betis in the summer with an option to buy for £15 million at the end of the season.

But the Spanish midfielder only made one Premier League appearance for the club, a five-minute cameo off the bench, and featured as an unused substitute in four other games.

Premier League round-up: Liverpool maintain lead

His only start came in a Carabao Cup tie against Colchester United back in August, which Palace lost on penalties against the League Two club.

But despite his lack of game time in south London, Camarasa has now taken to social media to express his thanks to the Eagles for his time at the club.

"Even though things didn't go as expected, I just wanted to thank the fans, the club and my team-mates for the support during this period," he wrote in a message on social media.

"It's a shame that I wasn't given the chance to prove myself and show my desire to succeed. @CPFC all the best, I will always support you from a distance. Good luck with the rest of the season."

And his message has gone down well with some Palace fans, who have been quick to thank the Spaniard for his message, as can be seen below.

After ending his loan spell at Palace, Camarasa has returned to Spain, with the 25-year-old going on to rejoin Alaves from Real Betis on a loan spell until the end of the season.

Camarasa had a previous loan spell at Alaves back in 2016-17, when he scored three goals in 31 league appearances.
