Crystal Palace eye £8m Simon Mignolet transfer

Crystal Palace are interested in Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet.

The Belgium international, who is set to leave Anfield this summer, has also caught the eye of Brighton, while clubs in Germany and France are monitoring the situation.

Mignolet, who is thought to be available for around £8million, has two years left on his contract.

The 31-year-old joined Liverpool from Sunderland six years ago and has made more than 150 appearances for the Anfield club. But there is little prospect of regular first-team football under Jurgen Klopp, who persuaded the Reds to pay Roma £67million for Alisson Becker in 2018.

Liverpool are thought to be trying to sign Alex McCarthy from Southampton to replace Mignolet, who could be retained if his valuation is not met. At the end of last season, Vicente Guaita was established as Palace’s first-choice keeper and they also have Wayne Hennessey at Selhurst Park.
