Crystal Palace dealt fresh injury blow ahead of Everton clash

Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Crystal Palace will be without defender Martin Kelly for the Premier League clash with Everton tomorrow.

The Eagles make the trip to Merseyside to face the Toffees at Goodison Park, with Palace looking to bounce back from two home defeats in a row against Southampton and Sheffield United.

But Palace have been dealt a fresh injury setback ahead of the game, with the former Liverpool defender now set to miss the clash.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Hodgson said: "We’ve lost Martin Kelly, in the training players sometimes do after a game he managed to pick up a slight calf strain. It’s enough to keep him out of this game."

Palace are already without Cenk Tosun, who is injured but is not available to play against his parent club as part of the loan deal that saw him sign from Everton in January.

Hodgson added that Jeffrey Schlupp and Mamadou Sakho are also still sidelined, as they continue to recover from longer term injuries.

However, Palace were boosted last weekend by the return of several key players from injury, with Patrick van Aanholt, Joel Ward, Christian Benteke and Andros Townsend all featuring against Sheffield United.
