Crystal Palace confirmed team news vs Norwich as Conor Gallagher missing from squad

Crystal Palace have made four changes to their starting XI for today's Premier League match against Norwich City at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

The big news is that Conor Gallagher is missing from the matchday squad entirely, with the 21-year-old midfielder having played in every league match this season other than the season-opener against parent club Chelsea.

The reason behind his absence is yet to be confirmed by Palace assistant manager Osian Roberts, who is once again standing in for Patrick Vieira with the Frenchman still missing through Covid.

The Eagles are also without Wilfried Zaha for today's visit of the Canaries with the winger serving a one-match ban for picking up a red card last time out against Spurs.

Vicente Guiata returns between the sticks in place of Jack Butland, while Joachim Andersen returns alongside Marc Guehi at the heart of the defence.

Tyrick Mitchell and Joel Ward are at left and right-back, respectively, with Nathan Ferguson named on the bench once again after making his debut in the final ten minutes of the Spurs game.

Cheikhou Kouyate continues in the holding midfield role, while Will Hughes returns ahead of him. Gallagher's place in the team has been filled by Jeffrey Schlupp.

Odsonne Edouard is also in the starting XI and will likely play on the left side to accommodate for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who starts up front. Jordan Ayew is the final player to make up the team where he'll play on the right-wing.

After naming only seven out of a possible nine substitutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Palace have once again been unable to name a full bench for today's game.

Christian Benteke is back in the matchday squad having missed the trip to Spurs, while Luka Milivojevic also returns to the bench.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Mitchell, Andersen, Guehi, Ward, Kouyate, Hughes, Schlupp, Edouard, Mateta, Ayew.

Subs: Butland, Matthews, Tomkins, Kelly, Ferguson, Milivojevic, Riedewald, Benteke.
