Roy Hodgson had made two changes to the side that lost at Leicester City on Monday night, with Tyrick Mitchell and Andros Townsend coming into the side at the expense of Patrick van Aanholt and Jordan Ayew.
Gary Cahill also returns to the squad, though he is limited to a place among the substitutes after missing the trip to the King Power Stadium.
Vicente Guaita starts in goal, as expected, with Joel Ward at right-back and Scott Dann alongside Cheikhou Kouyate at centre-back, while Tyrick Mitchell starts at left-back.
In midfield, Luka Milivojevic captains the side in the centre of the pitch alongside Jairo Riedewald with Ebere Eze expected to line up next to them as he did away to Leicester.
In attack, Townsend, who came off the bench against Leicester in midweek, starts on the right in place of Jordan Ayew. Christian Benteke starts centrally while Wilfried Zaha will take his place on the left side of the attacking line.
Hodgson confirmed ahead of the game that Cahill would be back in contention for the clash against Guardiola's side, and that apart from long-term injuries the squad is in good health.
"Gary Cahill has recovered so he's back in the squad which is good," Hodgson said.
"We're still missing James McArthur of course and we're still missing the longer-term injuries: Mamadou Sakho and Nathan Ferguson; Connor Wickham is still not 100% ready.
"But otherwise it's quite a big squad by comparison going into end of last season, which is very positive."
