Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor hits back at reports linking Dougie Freedman with Lyon

Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has dismissed reports he wants to take sporting director Dougie Freedman to Lyon as part of his takeover at the French club.

Textor is in talks to buy Lyon as he looks to increase his sporting portfolio, which already includes Brazilian club Botafogo.

Textor is also co-owner at Crystal Palace and reports in France had claimed he wanted to appoint Freedman at Lyon.

Freedman was spotted at a Lyon game recently and it was reported he was being lined up for a role at the French club.

Textor, however, has moved to dismiss those claims and has insisted instead that Freedman is focused on life at Selhurst Park as the Eagles continue to build under him and Patrick Vieira.

“Fake news, all of it,” he tweeted, tagging the club account.

“Dougie Freedman is lock focused on Palace; watches games all over Europe…makes me glad all over!”
