Leeds United's approach to their Premier League campaign has been praised by Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.
Marcelo Bielsa's men made a promising start to life back in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship. However, back-to-back 4-1 defeats have seen them drop to 15th in the table after eight games.
The margin of Saturday's loss to Palace at Selhurst Park looked somewhat harsh on Leeds, who also saw a Patrick Bamford goal controversially ruled out for offside by VAR.
Bamford did score one that counted - his seventh of the season - but it was not enough to save the visitors. Scott Dann, Ebere Eze and Jordan Ayew were on target for Palace, while Helder Costa put through his own net.
Parish was delighted with the result, though had some positive words for Leeds and admitted luck may have been against them on the day.
Posting on Instragram, he said: Such an enjoyable game, great performance and some luck we don’t always get...
"@leedsunited so refreshing how they approach the game - good to have them back. Enjoy the break #cpfc #epl"
The two sides had started the game level on points but the result lifted Palace up to seventh in the table - three points behind surprise leaders Southampton and reigning champions Liverpool.
Giving his reaction to the game, Palace boss Roy Hodgson said: "I thought it was a highly competitive game. I thought we played well and I thought we were good value for our victory.
"That’s a good victory because we are playing a team that started the season so well and have got a style of play that is a bit different to the style of play that we are normally used to seeing in the Premier League.
"Not only did we deal well with it defensively, I thought in terms of our attacking play we were a constant threat."
