Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic eyes Europe adventure after climbing to ninth with Bournemouth win

Luka Milivojevic says Crystal Palace are capable of pushing for a European place after climbing to ninth in the Premier League table with a win over Bournemouth.

The Eagles have now four consecutive games without conceding - the first time they have achieved this feat in the top flight - after a 2-0 success at the Vitality Stadium, with the Serbian and Jordan Ayew the goalscorers.

The win means Palace have leapfrogged Arsenal, who lost 2-1 to Brighton, into ninth place and level on 42 points with Tottenham as they make a late push for a Europa League slot.

Depending on the outcome of Manchester City's appeal to the CAS over their two-season ban from Uefa competition, Roy Hodgson's could be one of the beneficiaries if they finish in eighth.

And Milivojevic believes Palace can challenge for a historic European place after spending many seasons looking at the relegation zone.

"It was a perfect night for us, we cannot imagine a better beginning after the big break," he told BBC Sport after Palace's victory.

"I'm so pleased for the three points and the clean sheet. I'm very proud of the team.

"We had three clean sheets in a row before the break and it's not easy to continue this. It's great tonight to come away - after three months without football and against a good team - with the win."

Asked about playing in Europe, Milivojevic added: "You know what? It is possible to be honest, we are not far from it. The last few seasons we were looking behind us but now we can look forward."
