Crystal Palace can kickstart season with another shock victory over Premier League big gun, says James McArthur

James McArthur insists Crystal Palace can kickstart their season with an unexpected win against one of the top six — just like they did last season.

Palace lost their first seven games in the Premier League last season before a shock 2-1 victory against Chelsea at Selhurst Park.

After three straight defeats, Palace need a similar win to get their campaign back up and running. They face Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Sunday before playing Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United.

McArthur said: “We have got tough games coming up. It is going to be tough but sometimes we bounce back when no one expects us to.”

Palace are two points above the relegation zone and have failed to score in their four matches at Selhurst Park this season.

McArthur said: “We feel in the changing room that we should be doing better. We need to do our best to make the results better.”

Alexander Sorloth and Max Meyer are back for Palace after missing last weekend’s defeat at Everton. Luka Milivojevic missed a penalty in that game but says he will retain spot-kick duty.
