Crystal Palace braced for improved Wilfried Zaha transfer bid from Everton

Everton are ready to test Crystal Palace’s resolve with an improved bid for Wilfried Zaha.

Palace have already rejected a £55million offer but Everton are prepared to return with a late move to sign the forward before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish has made it clear he does not want to sell Zaha but it remains to be seen if Palace would consider a bid of £65m up front.

Losing Zaha, who has made it clear he wants to leave and has not featured in pre-season, at this stage would leave Palace with little time to sign a replacement.

On Monday the 26-year-old took part in Palace’s media day ahead of the new season with the Ivory Coast international’s future at Selhurst Park still uncertain.
