Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson delivers Nathan Ferguson transfer update

Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to sign Nathan Ferguson from West Bromwich Albion, Roy Hodgson has confirmed.

The Eagles have been searching for a right-back as they look for a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who left the club last summer to join Manchester Untied in a £50million deal.

Joel Ward started the season as Palace's only senior right-back, but with the former Portsmouth man out injured in recent weeks, Martin Kelly has played out of position.

But it seems that Palace's search for a new right-back is coming to an end, with the Eagles close to agreeing a deal with Championship side West Brom to sign Nathan Ferguson.

And Hodgson has confirmed that the deal is being worked on ahead of the transfer deadline.

“That transfer is still being conducted," he said.

"He is a player we’ve coveted for a long time, and it is one we’d like to do."
