Crystal Palace 1-1 Wolves: Late Jota strike sees ten-man Wolves take a point from Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace were denied their second home win of the season as Wolves scored a dramatic equalsier to share the points.

Palace looked set to respond to last weekend’s 4-0 drubbing at Tottenham with a 1-0 victory over at Selhurst Park.

Joe Ward’s effort from the outside the box was deflected past Rui Patricio and into his own net by Leander Dendoncker, as Wolves suffered their third-straight Premier League defeat.

Wolves were also reduced to ten men in the second half, when Romain Saiss was picked up his second booking for a foul on Wilfried Zaha.

That dismissal was the third successive league match at Selhurst in which Palace’s opponents have been reduced to ten men.

But there would be a late sting in the tail.

Diogo Jota struck from the left side of the six-yard box to level the game in the sixth minute of added time.

For Palace, it is now three matches unbeaten at home this season and two wins from their past four league games, as Roy Hodgson’s side steadily recover from a lacklustre start to the campaign.

But their failure to win two of three home matches where they have faced ten men will be cause for concern.
