If you were hoping to spend the Christmas hols shooting up New York and fleeing from giant robot assassins, you might be out of luck. In EA's financial conference call to investors today, the company announced that its hotly anticipated shooter sequel Crysis 2 is being delayed until first quarter 2011 – probably March. It had originally been planned as a winter release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, but is being held back, no doubt to give the notoriously perfectionist team at Crytek more dev time.
On a more positive note, the veteran publisher announced that it had swung into profit during Q1 2010, making $96 million after 11 straight quarters in the red. We'll have more on all this tomorrow...
