Nottingham Forest eased some of the pressure over their position at the bottom of the Championship as they climbed out of the bottom three with victory at Preston.
Lewis Grabban's penalty in the second half was enough to seal all three points for Chris Hughton's side who have now gone five games without defeat.
Forest had been plunged into the relegation zone after Sheffield Wednesday's win over Derby last night, but it is now the Rams who are in the bottom three as a result of the Reds' victory.
The three points were certainly celebrated on social media in a game that saw nine minutes of stoppage time before Forest's victory was finally secure.
Here's what the fans had to say on Twitter as the Reds began the New Year in excellent fashion.
FPL Forest: "Massive three points, awful attacking-wise but resolute defensively, puts us temporarily in our highest position of the season!"
Norton Bulby: "About time we had some luck go our way!"
Jim: "Well done Forest! Never doubted it."
Jack Taylor: "Big 3 points there need some good signings in this window. Really desperate for creative midfielders."
Tom Tom: "Get in!! That's been along time coming."
SS: "Not good for your health supporting Forest."
BVSNNFFC: " A big win! Five unbeaten and January window, now let's get some good players in and finish off strong."
Lewis: " HUGE win!! Get in!!!!! Well done lads."
Lisa Akers: "Finally. Crying here. Thank you."
