1. Trump: ‘Cruz is mathematically out’
After winning over 60% of the New York Republican primary vote, Donald Trump tweeted of rival Ted Cruz: “Now all he can do is be a spoiler, never a nice thing to do. I will beat Hillary!”
2. Cruz: ‘Nobody is getting 1,237’
But Cruz predicted that the race would culminate in a standoff of extreme rarity in modern presidential politics. “We are headed to a contested convention,” he said. Hello, Cleveland!
'Truly a remarkable feat'
3. Trump memo predicts 1,400
The Trump campaign held a considerably rosier view. An internal memo predicted Trump would rack up 1,400 delegates by July. The prediction appeared to involve some extremely creative math.
4. Trump trashes delegate system … again
The Republican Party has a system where you can buy the delegates if you want. And you can do anything you want with a delegate, except give them cash. I can play the game better — I can fly them on a 757 to Mar-a-Lago, I can fly them to California where I own a place that’s unbelievable, on the Pacific Ocean. But it’s a bad system. You’re buying the election. It’s really wrong, and I’m looking into it, legally.

5. Sanders: don’t stop believin’
A Bernie Sanders fundraising email insisted “we still have a path to the nomination,” despite Hillary Clinton’s 16-point New York victory. The campaign did not share its math.
6. Clinton: ‘victory is in sight’
Tonight, the race for the Democratic nomination is in the home stretch and victory is in sight.
