Cruz Beckham’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel has opened up about how the pair first met.
Apostel, 30, has been dating the youngest son of Sir David and Victoria Beckham, 21, since 2024, with the couple first spotted together at Glastonbury that summer before confirming their relationship on social media later that year.
Since then, the American songwriter has become a familiar presence at Beckham family events, from holidays to Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations, while also supporting Cruz on tour with his band, Cruz Beckham and The Breakers.
Now, in an Instagram Q&A, Apostel has shared the story behind their romance after a fan asked how they first crossed paths.
Speaking directly to camera, she explained: “We got put in a writing session and were both just like so obsessed with what we were doing with music and like, became really good friends and then here we are.”
Elsewhere in the Q&A, Apostel revealed Cruz is “funnier” than she is and said she has bonded with his younger sister Harper, 14, over watching The O.C. together.
The couple’s near 10-year age gap has, inevitably, drawn attention online, though Apostel has previously addressed criticism head-on.
After one Instagram user questioned why “a 29-year-old” was dating a 20-year-old, she responded: “Because he’s kind, funny, smart, caring, driven, mature, talented, loyal, and also quite handsome.”
Her candid comments come as Sir David and Victoria enjoyed a sun-soaked family getaway in Ibiza over the bank holiday weekend.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the couple relaxing aboard a luxury yacht with daughter Harper, son Romeo and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull.
Romeo, 23, was seen in red swim shorts while Turnbull, 25, wore a black bikini, with the younger family members also taking to the water for swimming and jet skiing.
Notably absent from the trip were eldest son Brooklyn and Cruz.
Brooklyn’s strained relationship with the Beckham family has reportedly played out publicly over the past year, with tensions said to have escalated after he and wife Nicola Peltz missed David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Earlier this month, Brooklyn also appeared to snub his father’s 51st birthday on social media, mere weeks after he also ignored his mother’s birthday.
