As the rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his family deepens, younger brother Cruz is reportedly taking steps to avoid his estranged sibling.
The 20-year-old musician is said to be making enquiries with the family’s favourite haunts ahead of visits to ensure he doesn’t run into Brooklyn.
According to The Mail on Sunday, Cruz has allegedly sent messages to venues asking questions such as “Is Brooklyn there?” and requesting staff to “let him know” if his brother shows up.
Brooklyn, 26, now lives in Los Angeles with his heiress wife Nicola Peltz, who has reportedly clashed with his parents in the past.
Tensions are said to have begun in the run-up to the couple's £3 million wedding in April 2022, when Nicola rejected an offer to wear a dress designed by Victoria Beckham.
There is also alleged rankling over 22-year-old brother Romeo's relationship with Kim Turnbull, 29, who previously dated Brooklyn's friend Rocco Ritchie.
Brooklyn hinted at the fallout in a recent Instagram post, writing "I always choose you baby" to his wife.
Although he doesn't live in London, relations with his parents are said to have worsened to the point that Brooklyn no longer tells them when he’s in town.
Last month, Brooklyn and Nicola visited the UK briefly for a photoshoot with Italian fashion brand Moncler in a location just two miles from the family home in west London.
But the couple chose to keep the visit under wraps, despite Nicola warmly posing for pictures on social media with Brooklyn's younger sister Harper, 13, in the past.
Brooklyn's parents are said to have learned about the nearby shoot only after the couple had returned to LA, when Nicola posted an image on Instagram.
Cruz appeared to make a subtle dig about the fallout in a now-deleted post on the platform last week, with commentators suggested was aimed at his brother.
He wrote: “It takes 43 muscles in your face to frown, and 17 to smile. Be kind and tell the truth.”
Although Cruz didn't make clear what "truth" he was referring to, many interpreted it as a thinly disguised criticism of his older brother.
An insider told the Mail last week: "Brooklyn is now being referred to as 'the hostage'.
"Those who love him fear that he is being controlled by Nicola, and it is heartbreaking."
