Crusaders vs Larne: Tiernan Lynch says fans are starting to see the best of midfielder

Manager Tiernan Lynch believes Larne fans are now seeing the best of midfielder Lee Lynch.

The Limerick-born 29-year-old, who joined the Inver men from Sligo Rovers, has scored in each of his first three league outings this season.

Lynch will be hoping the trend continues in today’s clash with Crusaders at Seaview.

“We’ve been working really hard with Lee, encouraging him to add goals to his game,” said Lynch. “That’s probably the one little thing he had missing.

“But he has knuckled down and is now reaping his rewards.”

Paddy McLaughlin insists his table-topping Cliftonville will be taking nothing for granted when they visit basement side Dungannon Swifts.

The Reds maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign last week by nicking a last minute equaliser against their north Belfast rivals Crusaders.

“We’ve made a good start, but that’s all it is,” said McLaughlin.

“Nobody takes any heed of the table until you are 10 or 12 games in. Anyone talking about league positions at this stage is jumping the gun a bit.”

Mick McDermott insists Glentoran’s clash with Warrenpoint Town at Milltown is a ‘banana skin’ fixture for his team.

“They have had an indifferent start to the campaign, claiming a good win against Ballymena United before experiencing a few disappointing results,” he said.

“Make no mistake about it, they’ll be up for this game.”
