Last week, we challenged Crusaders Football Club under-19 Ladies team to take on the crossbar challenge at Linfield’s new Midgley Park training complex, next to Windsor Park.
The challenge was part of a development day for young players that combined practice matches with workshops aimed at nurturing players on and off the pitch and giving them the tools to succeed at the highest level.
Four clubs – Crusaders Strikers, Linfield, Cliftonville Ladies and Glentoran Women – took part in the initiative which is part of the Electric Ireland Game Changers campaign - aimed at all levels of girls’ and women’s football, from four-year-olds right up to the Under-19 NIFL Academy League.
