Crusaders FC striker Jamie McGonigle heading for Seaview exit door as Stephen Baxter confirms interest

Jamie McGonigle appears to be heading out of Crusaders this summer.

Crues manager Stephen Baxter has revealed that the Shore Road club's valuation of the player has been met.

It is understood that both Larne and Glentoran are keen on the striker, who joined Crusaders from Coleraine in July 2019.

Yesterday the Crues confirmed the signing of former Larne striker Johnny McMurray on a three-year deal. They also recently announced a pre-contract deal for Glentoran's Jonny Frazer.

“There has been interest around Jamie and that has been documented,” Baxter told the Belfast Telegraph.

“Clubs have been in touch with us, have met our valuation and been given permission to speak to him so we will see how it pans out. If a deal is right for all parties, we will see how it goes.

“This is football. It’s part and parcel of the game. Jamie has expressed a little interest in exploring an opportunity and we have no issues around it, he’s a great lad.

"There’s been no fall-outs.”
