Crusaders announce new long-term deal for Ben Kennedy

Crusaders have announced a new long-term contract for midfielder Ben Kennedy.

Kennedy has put pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Shore Road club.

The 24-year-old joined the Crues from Stevenage in August last year, and previously had a loan spell with Newport County.

This season Kennedy has scored three league goals in nine Premiership appearances, including the winner against Linfield last Satueday and another in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Carrick Rangers.

Crusaders confirmed the deal on their social media.

They said: "Ahead of Saturday's game Crusaders are delighted to announce that Ben Kennedy has committed his future to Crusaders Football Club agreeing a new three-and-a-half-year deal.

"Ben is loving life at Seaview having made the decision to return home from Stevenage in August 2020."

Manager Stephen Baxter added: "Ben is in great form and this news will be a huge boost to our supporters and the team.

"He is a great character to have around the dressing room and it's great to see how settled he is at Seaview."
