This story of a small retailer crunched by the downturn could easily be about my part of town:
"The most recent casualty is 'Loving Thoughts' (the card shop next to Clarks) which has shut up shop due to lack of trade. The good news is that we won't be faced with yet another empty retail unit on Central Road. The bad news is that a betting shop will be moving in to its place - not quite what Central Road has been crying out for,but arguably better than yet another charity shop."
