A Dublin community was rocked after the sudden death of a "well know and loved" ex-GAA player on Tuesday.
Tributes have poured in for the late Vincent Delany who will be laid to rest in a small private funeral.
A beloved figure in the Crumlin community, Vincent played for Crumlin GAA and Crumlin United.
His family has asked everyone who knew Vincent to "take some time to remember the good times they shared and raise a glass in his memory".
A touching tribute on the Crumlin GAA Club Facebook page reads: "Crumlin GAA were saddened to hear the death of Vincent Delany.
Vincent was an ex-player of both Crumlin GAA and Crumlin United. A well-known and loved figure in the Crumlin community, he will be dearly missed.
"We pass on our sincere condolences to Vincent’s family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."
A notice on RIP.ie says: "The death has occurred of Vincent Delany Delany Vincent (27th July 2021) (Crumlin) suddenly, beloved son of Peggy and Mick, much loved brother of Fiona, Barbara and Caroline, devoted father of Zach; sadly missed by his loving parents, sisters, son, brother-in-law Francis, Barbara and Caroline’s partners Darren and Vinny, his adored nieces and nephews Ben, Nathan, Evie, Jamie and Emily, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, work colleagues and a very large circle of friends.
"May Vincent rest in peace In line with Government/HSE advice and to ensure the safety of all Vincent's family and friends, a small private funeral will be held.
"His family would ask that over the coming days, everyone who knew Vincent would take some time to remember the good times we shared and raise a glass in his memory."
