Crumlin premises raided following arrest on motorway of four armed men who stormed commercial garage with handgun

Searches are currently being carried out at a south Dublin premises following the arrest of four armed men who were stopped by gardai on the M7 on Thursday.

The men - one aged in his 30s, two in their 40s and one in their 50s - threatened staff with a handgun during a stand off at a commercial garage in Clonroche, Wexford.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident with the men leaving the scene in a silver Hyundai car.

The car was intercepted on the M7 by the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) at around 10am, a short time after the incident.

The four men were arrested and the car in question was seized for technical examination.

Crumlin Gardai along with the ERU and Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) are carrying out searches in a premises in Crumlin on Saturday in connection to these arrests.

A sum of cash and electronic devices have already been seized with searches ongoing.

The four men are currently being detained in various Garda stations in Wexford and investigations are ongoing.
