An elderly woman has been left heartbroken after burglars snatched her Christmas presents and cherished jewellery.
Her home in Fitzherbert Street, Warrington was broken into between 4pm and 7.30pm yesterday (December 30th) by intruders who forced a back door.
Once inside they searched the address and stole a number of items, including cash, sentimental jewellery and gift cards, which had been given to the victim as a Christmas present.

The offenders then left the scene through the back garden and fled across a former railway embankment at the rear of the house.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid their investigation.
Detective Constable Ian Morris said: “Being the victim of a burglary is always a traumatic experience, but in this case the victim in this case is an elderly lady and many of the items stolen were of great sentimental value to her.
“We are committed to doing all we can to trace the people responsible and we’re already following a number of lines of enquiry.
“As part of our investigation we’re also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.
“I would also ask nearby residents and drivers to check their CCTV or dashcam footage and come forward if you believe it may be useful to our investigation.
